HOSHIHAMETE
Trick plays against komoku-, takamoku and mokuhazushi stones necessarily occur either in even or low-handicap games and are indeed often simply tricky variations of joseki -- meaning that even if hamete fails an even result occurs. Those opening points also lead to such fiendishly difficult joseki as taisha, oonadare and Magic Sword of Muramasa. Some of the variations of last two in the whole board context can be found in respective fuseki dictionaries.
